Overheard

Reading something the other day,

I came across a reference

to a book in Latin

translated by Queen Elizabeth.

Digging a little further

I came across this article:

“Book of translations

reveals intellectualism

of England’s powerful

Queen Elizabeth I.”

In addition to ruling the country

starting at the age of 25,

she translated Seneca, Boethius,

and others for fun.

  1. See the illustrated bio: DIANA VREELAND by Eleanor Dwight.
Most of the photographs are from her family archives. African hunting party photos of her mother and from her childhood throughout her life to the Costume Institute. An invaluable book for your library.
