Requiescat in Pace: John Hughes

I know not of a more moving tribute to be found anywhere than this very personal and heartfelt account of a coming of age story of a young woman named Allison who felt the need to reach out and share her adolescent angst and dreams with the very private and genuinely wonderful director and human being, John Hughes. A touching and beautifully rendered post.

  1. Incredible. Should be looked at by all reading this ..

  2. Thank you for noticing. This exchange is so rich in detail and in conveying much of this very private, but genuinely nice, man who was always something of an outsider in Hollywood. He felt more at home in the Midwest which is why he chose to live there. There’s something to be said for a man who, in an era when plenty of us are busy oversharing details of our lives via Twitter and Facebook, managed to maintain some semblance of mystery about his life.

  3. Utterly unbelievable! A story that should be turned into a film, a loving tribute to a talented man… gives one hope that there’s still genuine humanity left behind the glamorous facade of Hollywood. At the mean time, there’s a recent doc made by two Canadians who tried to search for the reclusive John Hughes, entitled ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’… no, we won’t. Thank you for drawing our attention to Allison’s story.
