Too tentative, timid and tense,

Our President straddles the fence,

But the time does grow short,

And ’tis sad to report,

Reforms are not hither, they’re hence.

  1. I appreciate Eisenberg’s lightheartedness. He certainly uses poetry to it’s best effect – epitomizing the self-reflective mood of America.

Asking if cynicism can find a happy place, I find the answer may be in the wordsmithing of this man.

    • Vineca,

Wonderful observation. HIs response was to Frank Rich’s NYTimes column that suggested a bit too much
prevarication from the administration. I think Eisenberg summed it up beautifully.
