Cookbooks for Giving

There’s not an aesthete I know who would refuse yet another good cookbook for their burgeoning collection. Think of it as a time-honored memoir commemorating the days of fine living and indulgent loving that will see us all through the days ahead.

The always informative NY Times has compiled the preeminent resource list. Everything’s here from Publishers Weekly’s picks to Epicurious fare to be found in: The Best Cookbooks of 2008. Even the venerable Wall Sreet Journal weighs in with an excellent “field” guide to navigating the celebrity chef landscape. And not to be outdone on the culinary scene, Gourmet magazine, the gold standard  for gourmands has picked three “kitchen bibles” that the devoted food noviciate can’t be without. What more could any chef-in-training need?
